Before intubation

  • Open the case video and ask learners to state the airway problem, risk, and expected failure mode before watching the key moment.
  • Use the case as a short conference or simulation debrief prompt.

During intubation

  • Pause at the key airway decision point and ask: What do you see? What should change? What backup plan is visible?
  • Compare the view, tube delivery, oxygenation plan, and team communication.

After intubation

  • Name one technical pearl, one cognitive/communication pearl, and one behavior to change on the next airway.

Common pitfalls

  • Letting the video stand alone without a teaching question.
